Tidyscan

Privacy policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

The short version

The Tidyscan app does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. Your scans are made, read and stored on your iPhone, and the app never uploads them. The only personal data we ever hold is what you send us if you email support.

Who we are

Tidyscan is published by Dan Stevens. For anything about this policy, email support@tidyscan.co.uk.

Your scans

App lock and PDF passwords (Pro)

The app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode through Apple's own system. The app never sees your face, fingerprint or passcode, only whether the check passed. A password you set on a shared PDF is used once to lock that file and is not stored.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple tells the app only whether Pro is active on your Apple ID.

What we do not do

This website

This website has no forms, no cookies of its own and no analytics, and keeps no visitor logs. It is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which processes the IP address of every visitor under its own privacy policy and may set a strictly necessary security cookie.

If you email us

If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use it only to reply, keep it no longer than needed to deal with your request, and never add you to a mailing list. Please do not send copies of private documents unless we ask.

Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Apart from support emails, we hold none. Email support@tidyscan.co.uk and we will answer within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
